If you don’t already know, these limestone hills have earned the city the nickname “Guilin of Malaysia”!
Tasik Cermin, Ipoh, Perak, the Stunning Lake that Reflects Nature's Beauty
A 20-minute drive from Ipoh’s historic heart, Tasik Cermin is situated in Gunung Rapat, an industrial area on the city’s periphery. Until a few years ago, the location was an active quarry. Fortunately quarrying has ceased, making it safer to visit. There are actually two lakes concealed within this karst formation but only one is accessible.
Tasik Cermin is accessible via 50 metre tunnel, 100 metres ahead of you and to your right. Don’t worry. Even though it’s dark and unlit, you won’t lose sight of the light at either end, so  walk slowly, your eyes will adjust.
Sadly, this lake is under severe threat from quarrying and who knows whether it will be around much longer. Go now while you still can.
